Original German Deer Hoof Hunting Knife

This German hunting knife features a straight, single-edged steel spear-point blade showing minor age spots. The handle is crafted from a natural taxidermy deer hoof, fitted with a brass guard and pommel. The brown leather sheath features reinforced stitching. Dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, knives with hoof handles were popular hunting accessories in Germany. They served as utility knives and as decorative sidearms worn during traditional Bavarian hunting gatherings. The blade ricasso is stamped with the "Black Hawk Germany" manufacturer mark. The deer hoof handle is firmly fitted with a brass collar, and the sheath has a belt loop and retaining strap.
