Original US Marine Corps Mameluke Sword

This US Marine Corps officer sword features a curved steel blade with detailed etchings. The hilt is composed of a brass crossguard and two ivory-colored synthetic grip scales secured by star-shaped rivets, paired with a brass-mounted steel scabbard. Adopted in 1825, the Mameluke sword remains the ceremonial sidearm for USMC officers, inspired by blades from the Barbary Wars. This 20th-century piece reflects the design traditions of the Marine Corps, serving as a symbol of leadership. The blade is etched with scrollwork and the inscription "United States Marines". The guard features a star design, and the scabbard has two brass suspension rings and a polished brass chape.
