This Persian cavalry sword features a slightly curved steel blade with a single fuller, showing age discoloration. The hilt consists of a brass knuckle guard, a ribbed wooden handle, and a brass pommel cap, paired with a black steel scabbard. Based on the Russian Model 1881 shashka design, this sword was manufactured in Persia for cavalry units during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It served as a primary combat sidearm during the First World War. The blade ricasso is stamped with the Persian Lion and Sun emblem and Farsi markings. The guard is tightly fitted, and the scabbard retains its suspension ring and shows minor surface scuffs.
