This pair of decorative candle holders is cast in brass, modeled after Imperial German navy officer swords. Each holder displays a golden patina, sitting on a round weighted base. The vertical shafts replicate the wire-wrapped grips and lion-head pommels. Dating to the 20th century, these ornamental pieces are inspired by the Imperial German Navy's dress swords from the First World War. Such items were popular as commemorative military souvenirs, showcasing naval pride and traditional military aesthetics. The candle cups are integrated into the guard section, designed to hold standard taper candles. The lion-head pommels feature detailed manes, and the bases show minor surface scratches.
