This Bavarian cavalry sabre features a curved steel blade with a single fuller, showing age discoloration. The hilt is fitted with a steel D-guard and a grooved wood grip, accompanied by a steel scabbard showing a dark patina. Dating to the late 19th century, this Model 1891 sabre was manufactured in Solingen by Kirschbaum for Bavarian cavalry non-commissioned officers. It served as a standard sidearm, combining traditional craftsmanship with a rugged design for service. The blade ricasso is stamped with the Kirschbaum maker mark. The guard is secured tightly to the tang, and the scabbard retains its single suspension band and ring.
