Original American War of 1812 Officer Sword

This American officer sword features a curved steel blade showing a dark patina and pitting. The brass hilt is styled with an eagle-head pommel and a ribbed bone grip, paired with a leather scabbard featuring brass mounts. Dating to the War of 1812, this sword was owned by officer Newsom Andre Dullen. The eagle-head pommel was a popular patriotic motif on early American swords, symbolizing the national identity of the young republic. The blade retains faint gilt and blued decorations near the ricasso. The bone handle remains structurally sound with minor age cracks, and the leather scabbard features two brass suspension rings.
