Reproduction US Navy M1861 Dahlgren Bayonet

This reproduction Dahlgren bayonet features a heavy steel blade with a clip point, showing a polished finish. The hilt is composed of a brass crossguard, a ribbed wooden handle, and a brass pommel, complete with a black leather sheath. This piece is a copy of the Model 1861 bayonet manufactured by Ames for the US Navy. Originally designed by Admiral Dahlgren for the Plymouth rifle, the bayonet served as both a rifle attachment and combat knife during the Civil War. The blade and hilt show a clean appearance. The ribbed wood handle is firmly fitted, and the leather sheath features a brass throat and tip.
