This British fighting knife features a double-edged stiletto steel blade showing a black finish. The hilt is composed of a ribbed metal handle and a flat steel crossguard, accompanied by a leather sheath with a brass chape. Originally designed during the Second World War, the Fairbairn-Sykes commando knife is an iconic combat weapon. This piece, manufactured by J. Nowill & Sons in Sheffield, was issued to special forces for close-quarters combat. The crossguard is stamped with the maker mark of J. Nowill & Sons. The ribbed handle provides a secure grip, and the leather sheath features tabs for attachment to uniforms.
