Up for sale is a rare original French Officer’s Sabre, Model 1822, manufactured at the famous C.F. Klingenthal arsenal and complete with its with leather sheath and brass fittings scabbard. This beautiful and historically important sabre represents one of the most recognizable French military sword patterns of the 19th century.

Blade: Slightly curved single-edged blade with broad fuller and markings typical of Klingenthal production.
Hilt: Brass guard with a type of harp with a single bow hilt and an oval cup, ribbed grip covered with leather and wrapped with twisted wire, and finely detailed pommel — classic design of the 1822 pattern.
Scabbard: Leather sheath with brass fittings and central hanger, showing honest patina and minor age-related wear.
Dimensions: Overall length approx 35 1/2 inches,blade length approx 29 1/2 inches.
Condition: Very good antique condition — blade clean with some patina and minor oxidation spots; hilt and scabbard intact .
