French M1822 Cavalry Officer Sabre

This French cavalry officer saber features a curved steel blade showing age-related patina. The brass hilt has a three-branch guard and wire-wrapped leather grip, paired with a black leather scabbard featuring brass mounts. Adopted in 1822, this saber was manufactured at the Klingenthal arsenal. It served as the standard sidearm for French cavalry officers during the 19th century, carried on campaigns and representing military tradition. The blade spine is engraved with the Klingenthal manufacturer name. The brass guard has a warm patina, the grip wrap remains secure, and the leather scabbard is flexible.
