Russian Imperial M1881 Cavalry Shashka

This Russian cavalry sword features a curved steel blade showing age patina. The hilt is composed of a ribbed wooden grip and a brass pommel cap, accompanied by a leather-covered wooden scabbard with brass fittings. Dating to the First World War, this shashka was the standard sidearm for Russian Imperial cavalry during the final years of the Tsarist era. Designed without a handguard, it was optimized for swift slashing cuts. The brass pommel is stamped with the Imperial Russian cypher. The scabbard features a brass throat, middle band, and chape, showing typical wear appropriate to its age.
