Romanian Cold War Type I AK47 Bayonet
This military bayonet features a single-edged steel blade with a bowie-style clip point and wire-cutter slot, showing age staining. The hilt consists of a steel crossguard, a brown composite grip, and a steel pommel. The matching steel scabbard is fitted with a leather belt frog. Manufactured during the Cold War era, this Type I bayonet was designed in Romania for the AK-47 rifle. Modeled after the Soviet design, this weapon served infantry troops, featuring a dual-purpose design that combined a bayonet, utility knife, and wire-cutter for field operations. The blade and pommel are stamped with military serial numbers and inspector marks. The hilt locking mechanism functions smoothly, and the leather frog shows wear consistent with active field use.
