French M1934 Air Force Officer Dagger

This French military dagger features a straight, double-edged steel blade showing a bright finish. The hilt consists of a brass crossguard, a white composite grip, and a flat brass pommel. The black-painted brass scabbard has two hanger mounts. Adopted in 1934, this dagger was worn by pilots and officers of the French Air Force (Armée de l'Air) as part of their ceremonial dress. The design represents the aviation command of the interwar and World War II eras. The blade shows no active rust. The guard and pommel retain their original gold-colored finish with minor patina. The scabbard fits the blade securely and is fitted with a brass throat and chape.
