For sale is an original German Model 1855 Bavarian Infantry Officer’s Sword, complete with its scabbard. This is a fine 19th-century example, produced for Bavarian officers and crafted by the famous Solingen maker WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co.).
Maker: Marked WKC, Solingen – one of the most respected German sword makers of the era
Blade: Long, straight, double-fullered blade with beautiful double etching, featuring military motifs, floral panels, and decorative scrolls
Hilt: Brass guard with grip with wire wrap
Scabbard: Original steel scabbard with one suspension rings, shows expected wear and patina for age
Condition: Very good antique condition – blade etching remains sharp and attractive, hilt solid, scabbard complete and fits well. A rare and elegant example of a Bavarian officer’s sword from the mid-19th century, perfect for collectors of German edged weapons or European militaria.
