WWI U.S. M1909 Bolo Knife – Springfield Armory 1910 — Scabbard Rock Island Arsenal 1914

Offered is World War I–era U.S. M1909 bolo knife, maker-marked Springfield Armory 1910, complete with a period Rock Island Arsenal scabbard dated 1914. A scarce and historically interesting Army utility/entrenching blade with confirmed U.S. arsenals provenance.

Type / Model: U.S. M1909 / bolo style knife (trench/utility)

Maker / Markings: Blade stamped Springfield Armory 1910 (see photos for closeups). Scabbard marked Rock Island Arsenal 1914.

Blade: Robust single-edge/bolo profile blade; honest WWI-era with traces of time, service marks and expected edge/wear consistent with age.

Handle: Handle — ewood[ see photos], secure on tang with original rivets.

Scabbard:Leather scabbard (as pictured) marked Rock Island Arsenal 1914, remains complete.

Condition: Good condition for a service piece of this era — functional, with expected corrosion/patina and service marks. Please study photos carefully; they form part of the description. Collectors’ Note: Arsenal-marked blades and scabbards (Springfield / Rock Island) carry strong provenance and are desirable to collectors of U.S. WWI militaria and edged-weapon enthusiasts.
