German WWI Mauser Bayonet for Turkey with Frog

This export-pattern Mauser bayonet features a long steel blade with a deep fuller, a wood-gripped handle, and a steel scabbard. The metal parts display a dark gray patina and minor surface pitting. Produced in Imperial Germany for the Ottoman Empire, this bayonet highlights the military cooperation and alliance between the two powers during the First World War. It was designed to fit the Turkish contract Mauser rifles. The ricasso and pommel carry Turkish inspection marks, and the serial numbers on the hilt and the scabbard match. The leather frog is intact, showing age-related hardening and wear.
