German WWI-WWII Boot Fighting Knife

This compact combat knife features a double-edged steel blade, a simple steel crossguard, and ribbed wooden grip scales. The blade has minor sharpening scratches and age spots. Used as a utility and close-quarters combat weapon, boot knives were popular among German stormtroopers in World War I and infantrymen in World War II. They were designed for quick deployment in trench warfare. The ricasso is stamped with the "WB" maker's mark.
