Up for sale is American officer’s eagle head sword, dating to the Mexican War (1846–1848) and Pre–Civil War era. This fine example features the distinctive eagle head pommel, a popular motif among American officer’s swords in the early to mid-19th century.

Hilt: Ornate brass guard with detailed eagle head pommel, with bone handle
Blade: Curved single-fuller blade, decorated with etching and blade gilded and bluedshowing a beautiful patina
Scabbard: leather sheath with brass fittings and rings included, exhibiting expected wear, dents, and patina from age
Condition: Very good for its age – blade and hilt remain solid, etching still visible, scabbard complete.
