Danish WWI Model 1889 Krag Bayonet Knife

This military bayonet has been modified into a fighting utility knife, featuring a shortened steel blade, wooden grips, and a shortened steel-tipped leather scabbard. The metal shows a dark patina. Originally issued for the Danish Krag-Jørgensen Model 1889 rifle, many of these bayonets were altered for field use during the World War I era. This specimen represents a typical period utility modification. The blade ricasso retains its original Danish arsenal markings and serial number. The leather scabbard shows wear and scuffing, with the iron chape and locket remaining firmly in place.
