This combat bayonet is fitted with a blued steel blade, wooden grip scales, and a matching blued steel scabbard. The metal components retain a high percentage of their original dark finish. Produced in 1944 under the code "fnj" by Alexander Coppel in Solingen, this bayonet was issued to German infantrymen during the final years of World War II. It is designed for the K98 rifle. The blade and scabbard are stamped with matching serial numbers and the manufacturer code "44 fnj". The set is completed with an original leather frog showing standard field use.
