This heavy-duty combat bolo knife features a thick, single-edged steel blade with a rounded tip, wooden grip scales secured by two steel rivets, and a leather scabbard. The blade shows localized staining. Issued to the U.S. Marine Corps during the Second World War, this utility bolo was manufactured by Chatillon. It was utilized for clearing thick tropical undergrowth and building defensive positions in the Pacific theater. The blade is stamped with the "U.S.M.C." property mark and the maker's logo on the ricasso. The heavy leather scabbard is intact, featuring strong stitching and a brass belt hanger.
