This Marine Corps sword features a straight, polished steel blade with elaborate etchings, a gilded brass hilt, and a white grip wrap. The chrome-plated steel scabbard shows light surface wear. Manufactured in Japan under contract for the U.S. Marine Corps, this sword was carried by officers for ceremonial and parade duties during the mid-20th century. It conforms to standard military specifications. The blade is engraved with the owner's name and standard USMC scrollwork.
