Very Rare Original WWI German K98/05 “Butcher” Bayonet (With Sawback Removed) with Scabbard – J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk, Solingen

Offered is an authentic World War I German K98/05 bayonet, commonly known as the “Butcher bayonet”, manufactured by J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk, Solingen. This example was arsenal-modified with the sawback removed, a common wartime alteration after such blades were restricted during service. The bayonet comes complete with its original steel scabbard.

The K98/05 bayonet was the primary long bayonet used by Imperial German forces during World War I. Early production included sawback variants, later ordered modified to a plain spine. Henckels of Solingen, known for exceptional blade quality, was one of the premium makers of the pattern.
