US WWI M1912 Medical Corps Bolo Knife

This heavy military bolo knife features a curved steel blade, a brass crossguard, and ribbed wooden grip scales. The leather scabbard has a brass throat and hanger. Manufactured by Springfield Armory, this Model 1912 bolo knife was issued to U.S. Army and Marine Corps medical personnel during the First World War. It was used for field clearance duties. The blade ricasso is stamped with "US" and the manufacturer's mark "SA" with the year 1912. The leather scabbard is marked with the date 1908, showing typical age wear.
