British M1822 King William IV Officer Sword
Original British King William IV 1822 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword complete with its scabbard. This elegant early 19th-century example reflects the classic design features of the 1822 pattern, including the distinctive Gothic brass guard, wire-wrapped grip which has a slight play, and finely shaped blade typical of officers’ sidearms of the era.
The blade shows age-appropriate wear and patina, consistent with its nearly 200 years of history. The scabbard is present and fits well, traces of restoration are visible on the scabbard. Overall, this piece remains a solid, authentic example of a pre-Victorian British officer’s sword.
A wonderful addition for collectors of British militaria, Napoleonic/early 19th-century weapons, or antique officer swords.
