Offered for sale is an original British General Officer’s Pattern 1831 Mameluke saber, complete with its scabbard and officer’s knot (tassel). This prestigious pattern has traditionally been carried by British general and staff officers and remains one of the most iconic and elegant British military swords.
The curved blade is of correct form and quality, showing honest age-related wear, light surface marks, and The surface of the blade shows areas of partial loss with surface rust consistent with an original antique example. Any remaining etching or decoration reflects typical officer-grade craftsmanship. The blade remains straight and structurally sound.
