Original British General Officer Pattern 1831 Mameluke Saber w/Scabbard & Knot

Offered for sale is an original British General Officer’s Pattern 1831 Mameluke saber, complete with its scabbard and officer’s knot (tassel). This iconic pattern was traditionally carried by British general and staff officers and remains one of the most recognizable and elegant British military swords.

The curved blade features period-correct form and finish, with visible age-related wear, light surface marks, and patina consistent with an original antique example. Any etching or decoration present reflects typical officer-grade workmanship (please see photos for details). The blade remains straight and structurally sound.

The hilt displays the classic Mameluke-style grip with correct fittings, showing honest wear from age and handling. The scabbard is included and shows expected wear consistent with long-term storage and use. The knot is present and adds to the completeness and display appeal of the piece. A desirable and historically significant example for collectors of British military swords, General Officer patterns, or Mameluke-style sabers.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description. To ask any questions before bidding or purchasing.
