Antique American War of 1812 / Civil War Eagle Head Officer’s Sword

Up for sale is an authentic American Eagle Head Officer’s Sword, dating to the early 19th century and carried during the War of 1812 period, with continued use into the Civil War era. This fine example represents one of the most iconic early American officer’s sidearms.

Period: War of 1812 / mid-19th century (Civil War use possible)

Blade: Beautiful etched blade with floral and patriotic motifs; light age wear and patina consistent with 150–200 years of history.

Hilt: Elegant brass guard with eagle head pommel – a classic symbol of American military swords of this era.Original bone handle with traces of time.

Scabbard: Original leather scabbard with brass mounts.

Dimensions: Full length 38.5 inches; blade length 32 inches.

Condition: Very good antique condition. Blade etching visible; hilt solid; patina and wear appropriate for an original early 19th-century American officer’s sword.
