RARE Original Imperial German Lion Head Sword w/ Scabbard – Clemen & Jung, Solingen
Up for sale is a rare and authentic Imperial German Lion Head Officer’s Sword, manufactured by the renowned Solingen maker Clemen & Jung. This fine late 19th–early 20th century sword retains its original scabbard and displays the craftsmanship and prestige associated with German officer’s sidearms of the Imperial era.
Period: Imperial Germany, circa late 19th–early 20th century
Origin: Solingen, Germany

Blade:Blade well-preserved with crisp details.
Hilt: Ornate brass hilt with lion head pommel featuring inset red eyes; wire-wrapped grip intact and firm.
Scabbard: Original steel scabbard with suspension ring,aged patina and light service wear but structurally solid.
Dimensions: Overall length approx 35 inches; blade length approx 29 3/4 inches.
Condition: Very good antique condition. Etching remains sharp, hilt and grip well preserved, scabbard complete. Collectors’ Note: Lion head pommel swords were symbols of authority and prestige in Imperial Germany. Examples by Clemen & Jung are highly prized, especially when paired with their original scabbards.
