This heavy-duty bolo knife features a thick, single-edged steel blade with a rounded tip. The hilt is made of two-piece wooden scales secured by steel rivets. The blade shows typical military parkerized finish with light oxidation. Manufactured by Chatillion during World War II, this bolo knife was issued to United States Marine Corps personnel. It was used primarily for clearing jungle foliage and constructing defensive positions in the Pacific. The blade is stamped with the USMC and Chatillion manufacturer marks near the grip. The knife is complete with its heavy leather utility scabbard.
