Belgian 1889 Model 1889 Infantry Bayonet WK&Co

This socket-style bayonet features a long, single-edged steel blade with a T-back spine. The hilt is constructed of wood grips and a steel crossguard with a muzzle ring. The blade has a bright finish with light spotting. Manufactured by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. in Solingen for the Belgian Army, this bayonet fits the M1889 Mauser rifle. These bayonets were used during the early defense of Belgium in World War I. The ricasso is marked with the WK&Co Solingen maker stamp and inspection symbols. The bayonet is sold without its original scabbard.
