This historic naval sword features a straight steel blade with detailed acid etching of naval ciphers. The hilt is composed of a gilt brass basket guard and a wire-wrapped fish-skin grip. The blade shows minor oxidation. Manufactured by Manton & Co. in London, this Model 1827 sword was issued to Royal Navy officers. This pattern was carried during the late Victorian era and the First World War. The guard displays the royal crown and fouled anchor emblem. The sword includes its original brass-mounted black leather scabbard.
