This Napoleonic-era saber features a curved steel blade with wide fullers and engraved military motifs. The hilt is constructed of a brass three-bar guard and a leather-wrapped wooden grip. The blade has a grey patina. Introduced in 1802, this model was carried by French hussar officers during the Napoleonic campaigns. Hussars were renowned for their shock tactics and elite light cavalry status. The blade features engraved scrolls near the ricasso. The sword is complete with its original steel scabbard featuring dual suspension rings.
