This antique officer's sword features a slightly curved steel blade with engraved details. The hilt is made of cast brass featuring a detailed lion-head pommel and a wire-wrapped leather grip. The blade displays a dark patina. Dating to the late eighteenth century, this sword was carried by French officers during the Napoleonic Wars. The lion-head design represented courage and command authority. The guard is decorated with classical relief figures. It is accompanied by its original brass-mounted leather scabbard, which shows minor age wear.
