This military machete features a long, single-edged steel blade with a wide profile. The hilt has two-piece horn scales secured by brass rivets. The blade shows light pitting and dark patination. Manufactured by Collins & Co. under their Legitimus brand, this Model 1005 was issued to US Army engineers. These tools were vital for construction and clearing paths during the First World War. The blade is stamped with the Collins Legitimus logo. It includes its original leather scabbard with embossed decorative borders.
