This officer's sword features a slightly curved steel blade forged from pattern-welded Damascus steel. The hilt is composed of a gilt brass folding guard and a wire-wrapped white grip. The blade shows fine Damascus patterns. Manufactured in Solingen during World War II, this sword was carried by naval officers of the Kriegsmarine. Damascus blades were expensive private purchase options reserved for wealthy officers. The folding guard features the anchor design, and the pommel is carved in the shape of an eagle. It includes its original brass-mounted scabbard.
