Rare and highly collectible Imperial Russian Dragoon Officer’s Shashka, Model 1881/1909, manufactured during the reign of Tsar Nicholas II and marked by Zlatoust Arms Factory (ZOF). This is an officer-grade piece featuring the classic late-Imperial configuration.

The shashka retains its original wooden scabbard with brass fittings, a hallmark of pre-Revolution military craftsmanship. An excellent example of a scarce, private-purchase officer weapon from the final years of the Russian Empire.

Features

• Authentic Russian Dragoon Officer’s Shashka, M1881/1909 pattern • Imperial period, Tsar Nicholas II reign • Maker marked ZOF (Zlatoust Arms Factory) • Original wooden scabbard with brass mounts • Brass hilt fittings with correct officer form • Curved blade typical of Dragoon officer sidearms

Condition

• Blade shows age-related patina and surface wear consistent with period use • Etching/stamps visible where preserved • Brass pommel, guard, and scabbard fittings with natural patina • Wooden scabbard intact, showing normal age wea

Notes

Highly desirable among collectors of Imperial Russian militaria, Cossack and Dragoon weaponry, and pre-WWI edged weapons. Officer shashkas from this era are scarce, especially with original wooden scabbards and brass mounts.
