An antique American Staff and Field Officer's sword dating to the Civil War era. The sword features a straight, single-edged etched steel blade, a cast brass guard with integrated floral designs, and a wire-wrapped leather grip. It includes its matching metal-mounted scabbard. This pattern, officially designated as the Model 1850, was carried by Union staff and field officers during the American Civil War. It served as both a badge of rank and a combat sidearm on the battlefields of the 1860s. The hilt features a highly detailed cast brass eagle and US monogram in the guard. The steel blade retains faint traces of its original military etchings, while the metal scabbard body shows a deep brown oxidation layer.
