An antique Mexican traditional dagger knife dating from the late nineteenth century. The knife features a hand-forged steel blade with a reinforced spine, fitted with a carved natural bone handle and a simple steel crossguard. It is housed in its original stitched leather scabbard. This style of dagger was widely used in rural Mexico during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as an everyday utility tool and defensive weapon. The bone construction of the hilt represents regional craft styles of the era. The natural bone handle has aged to a dark cream color, showing natural grain textures and minor hairline cracks. The leather scabbard remains intact with decorative tooling and a small belt attachment loop.
