An authentic German Model 1889 Prussian infantry officer's sword in excellent antique condition. The sword features a double-fullered straight steel blade, a folding brass guard with the Prussian eagle emblem, and a ribbed grip. It comes with its original steel scabbard. Carried by Prussian officers during World War I, this model is a classic example of imperial German military sidearms. The blade was manufactured in Solingen by the firm P.O. & Co., a specialized blade workshop active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The folding guard mechanism functions smoothly, and the Prussian eagle motif is sharply defined. The blade retains its original shape with minimal staining, while the steel scabbard has a dark, uniform aged finish.
