Antique Original WWI German Bavarian Officer’s Sword – Engraved Blade w/ Scabbard by WKC
Up for sale is an authentic German Bavarian Officer’s Sword from World War I, manufactured by the renowned Solingen maker WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co). This fine example features a beautifully engraved blade and comes complete with its original scabbard.
Period: World War I (circa 1914–1918)
Origin: Bavaria, Germany
Maker: WKC – Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co., Solingen
Blade: Blade is slightly curved, double-etched/engraved blade with floral and military motifs; retains good detail.
Hilt: Guard with three elements protecting the hand design, ribbed polymer handle for a comfortable grip, showing light wear consistent with service.
Scabbard: Original steel scabbard with suspension ring; age-related patina and wear but structurally intact.
Condition: Very good antique condition. Blade etching remains visible, hilt solid, scabbard complete with honest wear. Collectors’ Note: Bavarian officer’s swords from WWI are less common than their Prussian counterparts, and this example by WKC Solingen with an engraved blade and original scabbard represents a highly desirable piece of German militaria.
