Original French M1828 Staff Officer Sword with Scabbard

An authentic French military staff officer's sword, Model 1828, in excellent antique condition. The sword features a straight, double-edged steel blade with decorative engravings, a detailed gilt-brass guard, and a wire-wrapped leather grip. It is paired with its original steel scabbard. Introduced during the French Restoration period and used into the mid-nineteenth century, this model was carried by staff officers. Its design influenced several European and American military swords of the nineteenth century. The gilt-brass guard features detailed floral relief work and folding guard sections. The blade is marked with the Manufacture de Klingenthal inscription on the spine, and the steel scabbard retains its original suspension mounts.
