An authentic Chinese Nationalist (Kuomintang) Army officer's dagger dating from the 1930s. The dagger is designed with a straight, double-edged steel blade, a decorative brass hilt and crossguard, and a wire-wrapped handle. It comes with its original brass-mounted scabbard. Carried by Nationalist officers during the Chinese Civil War and the Second Sino-Japanese War, this dagger was a standard symbol of rank and loyalty to the Republican government. These daggers often carry political inscriptions and military symbols. The brass pommel is cast with the Nationalist sun insignia. The blade showing typical age darkening and light sharpening marks, and the brass scabbard mounts are firmly attached to the metal body.
