Original French M1829 Mounted Artillery Saber

An authentic French Model 1829 mounted artillery saber in excellent antique condition. The saber features a curved, single-edged steel blade with fullers, a solid brass D-guard with a leather-wrapped grip, and its original steel scabbard. Manufactured at the royal Klingenthal arsenal in France, this saber is marked and dated 1831 on the blade spine. The Model 1829 was designed for mounted artillery units, offering a balanced combination of slashing capability and structural strength. The blade spine bears the elegant hand-engraved cursive Klingenthal arsenal inscription and date. The brass guard has a natural unpolished patina, and the steel scabbard remains solid with two suspension rings.
