Original German WW1 Fighting Trench Boot Knife
This German combat trench knife features a double-edged carbon steel blade exhibiting minor age staining. The wooden grip is secured with three metal rivets and shows light wear, while the black steel scabbard retains its original finish and spring-loaded boot clip. Such combat knives were widely adopted by the Imperial German Army during the First World War. Developed for close-quarters fighting in trench warfare, these sidearms offered soldiers a compact, highly effective alternative to standard-issue bayonets in confined subterranean spaces. The ricasso features a faint military inspection stamp. The steel crossguard is straight and minimal, preventing hand slippage. The wooden handle is grooved on both sides for grip, and the scabbard throat holds the blade firmly in place.
