This German cavalry officer sword features a slightly curved steel blade showing age-related patina. The steel basket guard has a folding front section and a wire-wrapped shagreen grip, accompanied by a matching steel scabbard with a single suspension band. Dating to the First World War, this sword was carried by a cavalry officer. As cavalry units transitioned to infantry roles, swords of this pattern became symbols of status and authority, reflecting the military heritage of Imperial Germany. The blade ricasso is engraved with the retailer mark "Eugen Klotz, Stuttgart". The folding guard displays the Imperial German eagle emblem, and the shagreen grip shows minor wear from active use.
