ANTIQUE Imperial German WW1 Officer’s Lion Head Sword – Damascus Blade w/ Blued & Gilt Finish

This is an exceptional Imperial German WW1 officer’s lion-head sword, featuring a true Damascus (pattern-welded) blade with blued panels and gilded etching. A high-grade presentation or private-purchase officer’s weapon, crafted with the superior detailing typical of pre-1918 German manufacture.

The Damascus blade shows its characteristic layered pattern throughout, with etched highlighted by blueing and gilding. The lion-head pommel retains its detail. The guard and backstrap display ornate engraved decoration with traces of gilt finish.
