Offered for sale is an antique U.S. Artillery Short Sword bearing the desirable N.P. Ames, Cabotville markings along with U.S., 1845, and NWP inspection stamps.

Manufactured by N.P. Ames of Cabotville, Massachusetts, this short sword represents one of the classic American military edged weapons of the mid-19th century. Examples of this type saw service during the years leading up to and including the American Civil War and remain highly sought after by collectors of U.S. militaria.
