US M1852 Naval Officer Sword with Etched Blade

RARE WWII US NAVY OFFICER’S SWORD – EXCEPTIONALLY PRESERVED A superb and highly presentable WWII U.S. Navy Officer’s Sword, preserved in very good, near-mint condition and retaining a remarkable degree of its detail and finish. The sword features a beautifully etched blade, incorporating the owner’s initials. Matching initials are also present on the upper scabbard fitting, providing an important identifying feature and adding to the sword’s individual history. The sword retains its leather scabbard with ornate brass fittings, featuring deeply executed relief work, elaborate ornamentation, and crisp decorative details. The guard is exceptionally well detailed, with intricate relief decoration and well-preserved gilding that remains highly attractive. The grip is wrapped with twisted wire and completed by a finely finished pommel. Condition: Very good to near-mint antique condition. The blade, etched decoration, gilt guard, leather scabbard, and brass fittings are exceptionally well preserved, with only minimal signs of age.
