RARE PRE-CIVIL WAR AMERICAN EAGLE HEAD OFFICER’S SWORD

A highly attractive and well-preserved Pre-Civil War American officer’s sword, distinguished by its finely detailed eagle-head pommel, silvered hilt, and exceptional decorative workmanship. The blade is in very good condition and exceptionally well preserved, retaining its engraved decoration with gilt and blued finishes. The combination of the preserved blueing, gilding, and engraving gives the blade a particularly striking appearance. The sword retains its leather scabbard with brass fittings, which retain areas of the silver plating along with an attractive natural patina developed over time.
